KLR is one of the fastest growing accounting firms in New England. We are seeking a Business Valuation Manager to join our team in our Providence or Boston office.

Job Responsibilities

  • Preparation of valuations of business entities, common stock, gift and estate valuations, shareholder buy-out, and purchase and sale transactions.
  • Financial reporting valuations a plus but not required - business combinations (purchase price allocations), including enterprise valuation of intangible assets, analyzing goodwill and long-lived asset impairment, financial analysis and related research, inventory, deferred revenue, contingent consideration, debt and equity components analyses.
  • Advising clients on business plan development, strategic investment decisions, or other financial objectives.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business from an accredited college/university;
  • A minimum of five years of valuation experience within a business valuation firm or valuation practice of an audit, tax and advisory firm;
  • Credentialed CPA, with CVA, Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), and ABV preferred;
  • A minimum of three to five years of Tax Experience a plus
  • In-depth understanding of generally accepted valuation approaches (asset, market and income), including discounted cash flow, guideline public company/ transaction, excess earnings, relief from royalty, with/without, comparative sales and replacement cost methods, capital asset pricing model, etc.
  • Experience in 409a and purchase price allocations a plus.
  • Strong excel modeling skills.
  • Exceptional writing skills in preparation of valuation reports, exhibits, memos, and other client deliverables/communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as team building, interpersonal and communication skills.

We are looking for a candidate to work full time. Normal hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm overtime during our peak season: January through April and August through October. These periods require increasing normal weekly hours, which include weekends.
